Great Day at Paws in the Park -13th September 2009
We had a great day for our first Paws in the Park at Baulkham Hills. The day was packed with activities and stalls for all the dog lovers to spoil their pooch.
There were so many exciting stall to see and as the day went on Brian and Kaye Pickering talked us through the events and stalls:
Siggy from Kellyville Pets had Conquer (Blackie to us) their beautiful and very friendly Black Cockatoo plus a Frilled Neck Lizard for the children to pat.
The vets from Sydney Animal Hospital giving you showbags of information and treats for your pets plus a “Free Dental Health Check”.
To make sure your pets travels safely to and from places- there was Stewart from Back Seat Buddy.
To keep the kids happy and some adults as well lovely Eirann from Face Fiction was there to paint happy faces on everyone. She certainly made the crowd come alive with her unique designs.
If you did not own a pet yet – there was opportunities for you to talk to the wonderful people from Adoption Centres such as Greyhound Adoption Program, where you can give a home to a Greyhound (which don’t need much exercise or space , believe it or not – apparently they exercise in short spurts , so they only need a 15 min walk a day).
RSPCA also was there to raise awareness and had a cute little dog looking for adoption. Plus the girls from DCH Animal Adoptions , which is a volunteer rescue charity for rehoming abandoned animals – they also had two wonderful big fluffy and friendly Collies looking for new families – one which name was “Roger”.
Terri and Grant Odell from Pets on the Park had a great range of accessories for which to spoil your puppies. Teri had her cute little Brussells Griffon’s on show as well – They are the dog from the movie “As Good As It Gets” – starring Jack Nicholson.
Sassy Treats had some great smelling cookies on show for your dog if they got a bit hungry through out the day, their treats are Organic and Natural so you can have piece of mind for your pets teeth. If you have an over-weight dog, they have healthy balanced meals pre-papered for you to help get your dog back to a healthy weight.
As the day was very hot and we had a lot of sweaty puppies they could cool down and get cleaned with Genny from Aussie Pooch Mobile dog wash. Genny and her team was kept busy all day with dogs cued to get wash (or cool down) and Genny had her little dog Tippee with her. Tippee was very excited to show me her tricks (for a special treat of course ☺ )
